We are partnering with African Heritage, Inc. to celebrate Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, editor and professor Toni Morrison. Join us for a community panel discussion featuring Dr. Abayomi Animashaun (Author & Poet, UW-Green Bay/UWO); Dr. Amy Abugo Ongiri (Jill Beck Director of Film Studies Professorship, Associate Professor of Film Studies at Lawrence University, Appleton); and Dr. Cherene Sherrard-Johnson (Sally Mead Hands Bascom Professor of English, UW-Madison) as panelists.

The discussion will focus on sharing the importance of Toni Morrison’s influence on literature and the significance of understanding African American culture while celebrating her writing and the impact her work continues to make. Morrison’s novels are known for their epic themes, exquisite language and richly detailed African American characters who are central to their narratives. We'll also invite attendees to participate in the discussion and share Morrison’s impact on their understanding of self and others.
