Are you an artist who feels strongly about the power of art in the community? Would you like to help make art and the art-making process accessible and fun? We are now recruiting for next year’s Artist-in-Residence! AIR programs have been a staple at APL since January 2015 and we are so excited to see what 2021 brings!
Each residency lasts three consecutive months, is incredibly flexible, and can get as creative as you like. Artists receive an honorarium provided by Friends of the Appleton Library. Typically, a residency includes providing three workshops and displaying art in our gallery. No previous AIR experience necessary!
Artists will be selected by our Artist-in-Residence curators, Melanie Thurber Adult Services and Engagement Librarian, Ally Wilbur, artist, Curator of Public Programs for the Museum of Wisconsin Art, and Executive Director for the Wisconsin Visual Artists, and Stephanie Harvey, artist, Staff Creative at McFleshman's Brewing Co., and staunch public art advocate.
Submissions will close October 30th. To apply or find out more information check out www.apl.org/air or contact Melanie at mthurber@apl.org.
