Steve Ballard will be APL’s Artist-in-Residence from March 1-April 29. Steve was born in Appleton. His art career included humorous illustration, advertising design, drawing and painting and the self-taught medium of assemblage. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from UW-Superior. He has been an active member of the Northeast chapter of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors since 1991. Steve has participated in several public arts projects in Seattle and New York including The Gates by Christo and Jean Claude. His work has been influenced by extensive travel in Europe and the Americas.

Join Steve for a presentation of sculptural images and how combining strange or familiar components can suggest metaphor, irony, and satire.
Process of Assemblage Lower Level Meeting Room C 3:00-4:00 pm
Steve will provide a further exploration of assemblage to demonstrate the more involved aspects of combining objects.
